Affirmation of Faith

SCRIPTURE
We affirm the Scripture, both Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired Word of God in its entirety, without error in the original writings as the complete revelation of His person and His will necessary to be understood by mankind.

GOD
We affirm that there is one God, infinitely perfect and eternally existent in the persons of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

GOD THE FATHER
We affirm God the Father, the first of the Trinity, orders and disposes all things according to His own purpose and grace. He has decreed for His glory all that comes to pass. He has graciously decreed the plan by which mankind might receive forgiveness of sin and be reconciled to Him.

JESUS CHRIST
We affirm that Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He is without sin as to nature, unable to sin in principle, and did not sin in fact. We further affirm in His vicarious and atoning death by crucifixion, in his bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of God the Father. He will personally return in power and glory, and is the final judge of all.

HOLY SPIRIT
We affirm the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who convicts the world of sin, regenerates with spiritual life those who believe in the gospel, indwells Christians, and seals their salvation the instant they receive the gift of eternal life by trusting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
We affirm that the Holy Spirit sanctifies the Christian in holiness, and provides one or more spiritual gifts to all believers, manifesting them as He wills, and that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are operative today. We affirm the filling of the Holy Spirit which endues the believer with power to live supernaturally and that it is God’s will to continuously live life filled with the Holy Spirit.

HUMANS
We affirm that God directly and immediately created the first man and woman in His image, free from sin. The first man subsequently fell into sin by a voluntary act of willful disobedience to the revealed Will of God. As a result, every human being of all ages is a sinner by divine pronouncement, nature and deed, subject to the wrath of God.

SALVATION
We affirm that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and mankind is utterly unable to save him or herself from the power or penalty of sin.
In salvation, we affirm that we are joint-heirs of Jesus Christ, which includes receiving His righteousness along with His authority and power. We also affirm that being in Christ through salvation that all are priests and every saint a minister in doing the work of ministry.

RESURRECTION & ETERNAL DESTINY
We affirm the resurrection of both those who are saved or righteous in Jesus Christ and those who are unsaved or are not righteous in Jesus Christ. We affirm that those who are saved to the resurrection of the life in a conscious state of blessedness, reward, ultimate fulfillment; and those that are unsaved to the resurrection of damnation, eternally separated from God in a state of conscious torment.

CHURCH
We affirm the one universal Church, composed of all believers, both the living and the dead, who have been indwelt and sealed by the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ for salvation, which is the Body of Christ. We affirm Christ as its head. We affirm the Church’s purpose to include glorifying God, extending the ministry of Jesus Christ in the world, worship God, fellowship, ministry and instruction to itself, and evangelism and ministry to the world, baptizing believers, teach them to obey sound doctrine, to love with God’s love, and to live a morally pure life.
We affirm that the Church expresses itself tangibly in local churches with recognized spiritual leadership, existing in community, to live out the Church’s mission. We affirm that it is the sacred responsibility of believers to identify with a visible expression of the Church.

BAPTISM AND COMMUNION
We affirm the Church’s two ordinances of believer’s water baptism by immersion and the regular observance of the Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion. Neither ordinance is necessary for salvation and cannot remove sins but when they are celebrated in genuine faith the ordinances confirm and edify the believer.

ANGELS
We affirm the reality of created spirit beings known as angels both elect and righteous who live in worship and obedience to their God and the Lord Jesus Christ; and wicked, demonic beings who exist under the power and direction of Satan who is a real personal devil of great evil, deception, and power whose supreme desire is to steal, kill, and destroy.
Satan and his demons have been defeated by Jesus Christ in His death and resurrection which will be ultimately fulfilled at Christ’s return with an eternity spent in the Lake of Fire.

MARRIAGE
We affirm that God instituted marriage as sacred and to be a monogamous, heterosexual, life-long relationship as His original and only design for marriage. We affirm that sexual relationships outside of heterosexual marriage to be unbiblical and immoral.

HUMAN LIFE
We affirm the sanctity of human life, that such life begins at conception, and is to be lived with dignity in God’s image.

HEALING
We affirm that divine healing is the power of Christ to heal the physically sick in answer to the prayer of faith.

CIVIL GOVERNMENT
We affirm that governmental rulers should be upheld at all times in prayer and submit to them except in things opposed to the obvious and revealed will of God.

CHRISTIAN RESPONSIBILITY
We affirm that God commands us to love Him supremely and others sacrificially and to live out our faith with care for one another, compassion for the poor, and justice for the oppressed.
We affirm that with God’s Word, the Holy Spirit’s power, and fervent prayer we are to combat the spiritual forces of evil including actively liberating those in demonic bondages.  And in obedience to Christ’s commission, we are to make disciples among all people by bearing witness to the gospel in word and action.

CHRISTIAN GIVING
We affirm that God’s ordained method for support and spread of His mission through His Church is by giving of tithes and free-will offerings.
